There is a brief pause filled with audible clicks and thuds, followed by the slightly echoey acoustics that come from someone recording audio in a large room. "Hello hello! You've reached Dr. Velocity! Feel free to leave a message or a video or whatever here, and I'll do my very best to respond promptly! And if it this is about the stickers, Ratchet, I didn't do it! Love and love and love!"

No need to trouble yourself on my behalf, not at all. I suspect you might be doing that to yourself a smidge already.

[ More then just a smidge by all accounts. This must have something to do with that ominous network post she made the other day. A mission and a failure. And perhaps something even more then that. A secret he smells, and he loves a good secret. He vanishes in a pop and then moments later pops back again next to her bed, holding a cube out to her. ]

And I also suspect your sojourns out have not been as frequent as you'd like.

[Velocity jumps a bit when she actually witnesses him teleport, but holds out her hand for the cube without hesitation and takes a sip]

Maybe. [She mumbles, drawing up her knees to her chest] I've been trying to keep busy, but- [A shrug, and she takes another sip, mostly to give her an excuse to delay talking]

It looks like my default when things go really really really wrong is to hide. Do you, um. Do you do that, too?

Hmm...

[ He ponders, tapping his chin. ]

I suppose that all depends on just how much of the wrong I'm at fault for and what exactly is on fire.

[ He laughs, only half joking really. He usually prefers to sit back and watch the metaphorical and physical fires of his own creation. Prime entertainment those are. ]

Typically for better or worse I'm about and out trying to make that wrong better or worse, whatever seems best at the time.

[Velocity cycles her optics at him, not entirely certain how to take that but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a joke or that she just didn't understand the context. And besides...]

Can one decision be both? [She mumbles this into her knees] I did something that-

[She cuts herself off and turns her head to look away]

I don't know. I would do it again. But maybe that's the problem.
